Alexander the Great-Era Mosaic Unearthed in Amphipolis
The mosaic, dated to the last quarter of 4th century BC (325-300 BC), adorns the floor of an antechamber leading to the tomb at the Kasta Hill burial complex in the ancient city of Amphipolis. It covers an area of 4.5 by 3 meters and shows two male figures and a chariot pulled by two white horses.
