OK, so what's the down side?
All the domesticated animals will revert to their wild status either as predators or prey.
The lakes and rivers will eventually become clean (at least as clean as they ever were) and the oceans will become safe for aquatic creatures to swim in, although the existing predator-prey thing will continue.
All the power plants will go into emergency shutdown mode like they are supposed to.
Eventually the containment vessels will crack open and whatever remains will return to the crust of the planet.
The termites will finally do what comes naturally to wood structures.
Iron will rust.
Maybe a truly intelligent species will evolve instead of there being a bunch of deranged naked apes running amok destroying the environment for everyone else.
See? No down side.
