Life in the Universe may be much older

A group of researchers say it is the oldest planetary system ever found. It consists of five small rocky planets orbiting stars Two and a half times as old as the earth's sun-rises and 11200000000 years. Although astronomers do not believe that these planets harbor life today, they say that the results show the size of terrestrial planets capable of hosting life may have formed much earlier than previously thought.

Search through space and passes through the 13.8 billion year history of the universe. Now, scientists have discovered five Earth-sized planets all around the ancient, orange star-that life has to offer in the universe may be much older than previously thought.

awesome find, perhaps it will show people that the real wonders of the universe are the ones we find (and prove) ourselves. from hypothesis to calculation to test to results! Well done to all involved.

Can't quite get my head around how long this star and its planets have existed

What is amazing is that with our current rocket technology we could reach the nearest star in as little as 110 days.
