Global temperatures in 2014 broke previous records, making 2014 the hottest year since records began in 1880, US scientists reported today (January 16).
Each continent heat records set last year, and the Pacific was unusually warm, despite the no-show of El Niño.Heat on land and in the ocean temperature broke the previous record set in 2005 and 2010, scientists from NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced.

That's what "reduce emissions" means: make it worse more slowly. What we need to do is take some CO2 out of the atmosphere, or intervene somehow in weather patterns to offset the effects of having more CO2, or both.

Hardly a surprise. The basic physics of the greenhouse effect has been known for well over a century. Instead of reducing the flow of carbon into the atmosphere and helping Canadians understand what a radically warmed world will mean for everyone, our currently leadership remains perversely focussed on pipelines and tryin to sell as much carbon to the world as possible.

I didn't know there were so many people here with more access to information and technology regarding the entire worlds climate, than that of NASA and NOAA. Amazing.
