deniers don't just deny global warming and climate change relating to human activities, they deny the legitimacy of science itself. the rest of the world knows that scientific facts and theories are not just another set of opinions, equivalent to personal opinion, and that science is in fact a massive undertaking by some of the best human minds. simply put, it is the most powerful tool we possess for human understanding of the cosmos. global warming denial is anti-intellectualism at its worst, just the latest thread in the long history of anti-intellectualism in the US. how ironic that america is fast becoming the most ignorant nation on the planet, even as the youth of many other nations study science and engineering at american universities...
