Chang'e-5 is now designed to make a soft landing on the moon and collect at least 2 kg (4 lb) rock and soil samples before returning to Earth.
If successful, this would make China only the third country after the United States and Russia, which will land the ship on the moon's surface.
Noteworthy that the program in China has received assistance from Russia, but largely developed independently of America, which is now in the sixth decade of entering people into space.

Unfortunately America has not put anyone beyond Low earth Orbit in decades.

We should encourage all nations to join the space race. Less money to spend on weapons and troops that way.
